Job Purpose

The Product Analyst is responsible for supporting the development of our digital products by working closely with the Product Owners to identify, document and prioritize business requirements, providing solutions that meet the business needs and helping the design and development teams to ensure that the correct solution is delivered to the stakeholders.

Functional Roles and Responsibilities

•          Support the full life cycle of product development by clarifying customer business needs and translating them into technical and operational requirements

•           Gather input from a variety of internal and external sources to define product concepts; responds to the needs of customers throughout the development process; analyzes competitors and market trends; evaluates technologies; develops detailed requirements, feature definitions, implementation plans, and internal communications.

•           Use customer insight and analytics to validate customer problems and solutions throughout the product development process, assisting with ideation, grooming of backlog and putting forward product proposals.

•           Work closely with Product Owners, User Experience Professionals, the analytics team, end users and technology team to develop logical and innovative solution designs to address requirements captured

•           Gather requirements for Product development by conducting interviews, work flow analysis, process analysis, and observation sessions

•           Write concise and effective user stories and define precise and accurate acceptance criteria

•           Evaluate information from multiple sources and help distinguish user requests from user needs.

•           Foster Agile principles and methods for requirement gathering.

•           Review the technical architecture of the solution throughout the product/software development life cycle, working close with the development and QA teams. Liaise with Engineering throughout the lifecycle of the project, ensuring that requirements are delivered at all required stages

•           Work with the Product Owners to plan analysis work and highlight risks and issues

•           Contributes to successful project completion, within budget and schedule, by identifying risks and developing/ recommending mitigation strategies.

•           Support the testing phases of the project and facilitate user acceptance testing

•           Provide end user training, so affected users understand changes to the business.

•           Support operational issues caused by Product development and implementation.

Job Requirements

Education/Certification and Continued Education

•           Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or any Technology related field

Years of Experience

•           3+ years of experience of working as a Business Analyst or Product Manager preferably in an E-commerce environment

Knowledge and Skills

•         Understanding of the Product Development Lifecycle

•           Well versed at creating epics, user stories and acceptance criteria

•           Experienced with lean software development method and working in an agile environment

•           High level understanding of IT architecture and the Software Development Lifecycle

•           Knowledgeable on business process and data analysis, functional design, modeling, system development processes, and software testing.

•           Effectiveness in requirements gathering, definition, business planning, data analysis, process analysis, business and functional requirements analysis, system design, testing implementation and change management

•           Prior exposure in rolling out new programs and coordination with different departments like store operations, warehouse and fulfillment operation, customer service, finance and change management etc.

•           Prior exposure on any ecommerce solution preferred ( Magento, oracle ATG, OMS, Shopify)

•           Strong listening, requirements elicitation, analysis and problem solving skills

•           Proven experience across the full project lifecycle (from initiation through to benefits realization) within both structured and agile project environments

•           Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization, with the ability to communicate with technical and non-technical audience.

•           Good workload management to adapt to unplanned activities or changing priorities.

•           Highly collaborative and comfortable working with various levels of management

•           Attention to detail with a strong focus on analytics
