Introduction
As a Data Scientist at IBM, you will help transform our clients’ data into tangible business value by analyzing information, communicating outcomes and collaborating on product development. Work with Best in Class open source and visual tools, along with the most flexible and scalable deployment options. Whether it’s investigating patient trends or weather patterns, you will work to solve real world problems for the industries transforming how we live.
Your Role and Responsibilities
The specific focus of the position is to extract, transform, and combine all incoming data (structured and unstructured) with the goal of discovering a previously hidden insight. The data is expected to be transformed to the format that can be easily analyzed and available (develop, test and maintain the infrastructure for data extraction).
The person will work closely with other data scientists and other business intelligence roles, like data architects, to build the business intelligence solutions.
What sets the data scientist apart is strong business acumen, coupled with the ability to understand client’s business issues and needs, consultancy skills and ability to communicate findings to both business and IT leaders in a way that can influence how an organization approaches a business challenge.
Main responsibilities:
• Understand business challenges and needs of the client
• Build conclusion with client about the desired business intelligence solution
• Develop, construct, test, maintain the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources
• Recommend and implement actions to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality
• Discover opportunities for data acquisition
• Employ a variety of languages and tools to marry system together
