Overview
Wolt is looking for a backend developer to join our Growth and marketing team. The Growth team is all about driving… you guessed it, growth! The team does this by making changes to our consumer-facing applications (iOS, Android, and Web), building new customer-facing features, and building tools for our marketing teams. The team works on significant new customer-facing features experimentally – the development within the team moves at a fast-pace, is very iterative, involves a lot of testing out new things and finding new ways to engage our customers.
The Growth & Marketing team is currently 9 people strong and consists of a team lead, a product lead, a data-analyst, mobile, backend, and frontend engineers, and a designer and in the future, probably you 🙂 There will be plenty of opportunities to collaborate with other teams on common projects. At Wolt, we are working in small agile teams where high ownership is valued and is visible in the day-to-day work.
This role can be based in one of our tech hubs in Helsinki or Berlin, or you can work remotely anywhere in Finland, Sweden, Germany, Denmark, and Estonia. Read more about our remote setup here.
Our humble expectations
Do you have a background in designing and building top-class systems at scale? – Amazing!
You might be the one we are looking for. On the backend side, we use Python (You can check our Python-talk playlist to hear what our engineers think about Python here.); thus, excellence with it comes in handy. Strong expertise in another backend language is also genuinely relevant, but enthusiasm for working with Python is essential. Pertinent other technologies are MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and our environment is AWS. Experience and vision in backend architecture are highly valued as well as experience in growth hacking.
We expect you to be a good communicator, willing to collaborate with people outside of your own team, be product-oriented, and a proactive problem solver keen to bring up issues in a constructive manner to the team and the Wolt Product+ team at large.
