Job Description


Twitter Crypto is a new team exploring decentralized technologies, including blockchains, cryptocurrencies, and web3. Our goal is to figure out what crypto means for Twitter, and what Twitter means for crypto We help teams across Twitter build features that are supercharged by crypto, while also thinking long-term about explorations in community, identity, and more. This is an opportunity to help bring crypto to a more general audience–we’re bridging web2 and web3!

As a Staff Engineer on the crypto team at Twitter, you’ll

  • Partner with product and engineering teams across the company to explore how crypto can supercharge initiatives and features.
  • Inform new strategic initiatives in the blockchain and web3 space.
  • Build and own crypto-specific features and services.
  • Research and evaluate new protocols, projects and trends in the crypto industry.
  • Serve as a domain expert on all things crypto for the company.
  • Collaborate with the Bluesky team to shape the future of decentralized social media for Twitter.

Our initial focus is on Creators and especially creator monetization. In this capacity, we’ll be looking closely at NFTs and NFT tooling, membership tokens, DAOs, and more!

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, of which 2+ years should be building on-chain or working on blockchain protocols themselves
  • Expertise in one or more of the following areas dapps (including Solidity), blockchain interoperability protocols, blockchain scaling protocols, P2P systems, byzantine fault tolerant distributed systems, or web3 primitives (like NFTs and DAOs).
  • Experience and enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring other engineers as a member of the crypto team, you’ll be an ambassador to the rest of the company
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of your work you anticipate and tackle issues before they arise, and follow through 100%
  • Open-mindedness and curiosity about the crypto industry you can keep up with new trends, and can make decisions about technology without getting weighed down by dogma
  • Excellent communication skills, including written communication we collaborate with teammates from a wide range of backgrounds, and often work asynchronously
