Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and experienced Software Engineering Manager to a cross functional team of currently 10 engineers in the development of our industry leading Applicant Tracking System (ATS) solutions. As the Software Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for managing people as well as the software development life cycle, from planning to delivery, using Agile software development methodologies. You will also work closely with the product team to refine and prioritise work based on business and customers’ needs.
The successful candidate will be able to work independently, manage a distributed team, and collaborate effectively with colleagues across different time zones. Main Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of cross functional Software Engineers.
- Work closely with support team to manage and prioritize bug fixes.
- Develop and implement Agile software development methodologies.
- Manage Build pipelines using Octopus Deploy and Azure DevOps Build and Release Pipelines.
- Manage the software development life cycle, from sprint planning to sprint reporting such as Sprint Velocity.
- Focus on reducing technical debt and writing reusable clean code first.
- Develop and implement microservices architecture and migrate from monolithic applications to microservices.
- Create team development plans, provide coaching, conduct one-to-ones, and provide training.
- Be responsive to changing priorities and adapt to evolving business and product backlog priorities.
Experience
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to prioritise and manage competing priorities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions.
- Strong experience in Agile software development methodologies – we currently follow Scrum.
- Technical background in .Net, .Net Core, C#, VB.Net, SQL Server, Azure DevOps & build pipelines.
- Cloud experience – we currently use Azure
- Experience with Microservices architecture and monolithic applications to Microservices migration – Desirable.
