Job Description:
What You Need to Know about the Role:
As a Product Owner, you will be critical leader within the Global Credit Risk, Seller Risk and Collections (GCSC) Intelligence Automation team as we build the next generation data platform and BI tool suite to support risk and operations across PayPal products.
Your way to impact:
Our customers are internal Intelligence tool users who need rapid insights to new strategies, solutions, new PayPal credit and merchant products and fraud prevention and mitigation. Through the combination of your experience in credit or merchant lending, combined with technical acumen and product management experience, you will bring to life tools that will enable more customers to access PayPal consumer and merchant products with less risk to the organisation. In doing so, you are leading key efforts in democratising digital finance to the world.
Your Day to Day:
As a member of the GCSC Intelligence Automation product team, you will:
- Partner with internal customers (executives and strategy and analytics users) to define business goals for Intelligence BI data platform and products. Translate business demand to epics and stories in support of our Intelligence Automation solutions.
- Serve as a liaison to the development team to explain business context and rationale for key features and components of our solutions.
- Define roadmap of key features and components for the Intelligence Automation team, specific to a group of external product monitoring/analytics/reporting.
- Ensure user stories align to features and epics, and are appropriately prioritised and groomed for intake by engineering and automation teams.
- Develop and communicate the product vision and roadmap by gaining clear understanding of the product lifecycle for the solutions we support, as well as the strategic path ahead for external product development and risk reduction, which will enable you to inform the team on priorities and develop a feature roadmap.
- Partner with Release Train Engineer(s) to develop releases and program increments (PIs). Lead PI planning and coordination by bringing to the table the vision, milestones and key objectives to achieve business value via our product delivery.
- Work with System Architect/Engineering to understand Enabler work, so that we can jointly sync the Architectural Runway.
- Participate in System demos, including the aggregate one at the end of PI. You may also be asked to participate in team demos, as this role will often function at both the product manager and product owner levels. Flexibility and agility are vital to our growth.
- Continuously identify opportunities for improvement, growth and standardisation; be a steward of process efficiencies and scalability not only of our solutions, but of our ways of working.
