What is the Core Host team at Airbnb? 

The Core Host team supports the Airbnb vision of ‘end-to-end Magical Trips’ and enables anyone to belong anywhere by ensuring that there are many unique places on Airbnb for guests to have wonderful stays. We activate and onboard hosts so that they can provide unique and high quality accommodations, and we support hosts through recognition and a sense of belonging in our host community.

What is a Software Engineer at Airbnb? 

We are looking for self-directed engineers with a bias towards impact to raise the bar of our platform and hosting experience. They will build products that ensure core hosts have the tools, knowledge, and motivation to succeed in the complicated world of hosting. They will work with our cross-functional team on all aspects of product development: strategy, brainstorming, user research, design, execution, and iteration. The ideal candidates will have a strong technical and strong cross-functional communication/collaboration skills, as well as empathy for our hosting community. They must embody Airbnb’s core values and be a team player to all.

Engineers must be comfortable in a fluid and fast paced work environment where responsibilities may change and evolve based on the needs of our hosting community.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5+ years industry experience
  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree, preferably in CS, or equivalent experience
  • Experience shipping one or more Swift or Objective-C iOS apps, ideally currently available in the App Store.
  • Personal projects that show an aptitude for technical excellence and product sense.
  • Ability to work in areas outside of your usual comfort zone and show motivation for personal growth.
  • Interest in innovations within the mobile industry.
