PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

User experience design is one of the top priorities for both SAP and our customers. The SAP User Experience team defines the user experience of SAP products and sets the design direction for SAP products across units, delivery channels and devices, in collaboration with product design teams. SAP User Experience is constantly exploring ways to deliver next generation experiences to better meet the needs of our customers and to evolve our award-winning Fiori design (http://experience.sap.com/fiori/).

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

SAP User Experience has an opening for a talented user experience designer who has a proven track record of designing engaging experiences for enterprise software.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about the user and their needs, and who loves solving design problems. You have excellent communication skills and enjoy collaborating and exchanging with others. You love technology and how this relates to enhancing human experiences, and you keep up-to-date with the constantly evolving world of design and technological innovation. You enjoy sharing your knowledge and experiences with others. You appreciate being part of a global and diverse team, and are comfortable working with remote engineering and design teams. You take responsibility for your design throughout the software development process.

Your main responsibilities will include one or more of the following topics:

• Work with user researchers and product managers to research and analyse business and user requirements.
• Create innovative design solutions that meet the needs of users. Convey design solutions through customer journey maps, storyboards, wireframes and interaction design flows.
• Create interactive prototypes.
• Work with user researchers to test and validate designs.
• Work with software developers to ensure designs are feasible.
• Work with project managers to plan the implementation of designs.
• Create high quality specifications and design communication materials.
• Work with front-end and back-end developers to oversee design implementation.
• Communicate with all stakeholders to ensure that designs are productized correctly.

Candidates will be required to submit a portfolio or samples of their work as part of the application process.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• Bachelors or Masters’ degree in industrial design, product design, user interface design, multimedia design, or related discipline.

Required skills

• Experience in designing enterprise software.
• Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize your work.
• Proficiency with industry-standard design and prototyping tools.
• Ability to think on a conceptual level and execute on a practical level.
• Ability to work with a defined design language when required as well as work on design explorations for innovation projects.
• Since you will collaborate with engineering and design teams in Europe, North America, and Asia you must have good written and oral communication skills in English, our global language of communication.
